Penta Guitars are both handmade and precision machine made in our shop. From the headstock to the tail block, we make every part. (Minus the strings and tuner keys. ) Some builders buy the pieces and assemble them together, but that is not what we consider true craftsmanship.

I have been playing guitar since 1966 and building them since 1974; one or two per year. After high school, some college and a couple of apprenticeships in the custom furniture and cabinet industry, I started my own high-end custom cabinet and furniture company. After about 30 years I was ready for a change and guitar making had always been my passion. One by one, I designed and built the machines necessary to manufacture all of the parts that it takes to make the guitar. My goal was to produce a guitar line that is built like a tank, plays well, sounds unique and wonderful and will be played for generations. I am so proud to introduce to you my Model 82 guitar!

We have engineered our acoustic guitars from the inside out to create a stronger, better sounding instrument. Using modern techniques, better glues, many different species of wood, as well as re-engineering some of the parts in and on the guitar.
Features of our Model 82
- Solid wood tops
- Thicker sides (approx.0.140")
- Laminated arched 4-5 ply b
We have engineered our acoustic guitars from the inside out to create a stronger, better sounding instrument. Using modern techniques, better glues, many different species of wood, as well as re-engineering some of the parts in and on the guitar.
Features of our Model 82
- Solid wood tops
- Thicker sides (approx.0.140")
- Laminated arched 4-5 ply backs
- 3 or 5-piece laminated necks - No scarf joints
- Neck mounts to body with mortise and tenon joint and fastens with bolts and barrel nut-no insert
- Bone nut and bone or Corian bridge saddle
- Single action truss rod
- 4 or 5-piece binding on the front and the back.
- Finished on the inside and outside with moisture resistant nitrocellulose lacquer
- Fret inlays - real mother of pearl or abalone
- Grover tuners
- S.I.T. 11 gauge strings supplied
- L.R. Baggs iBeam system if electrified
- 1 year limited warranty on workmanship
